International Education
IB Diploma Programme at CSM by SIS (as of 2028)
The IB Diploma Programme takes place during the final two years of school and is an academically challenging graduation programme that is respected and recognised by leading universities across the globe.
Spanish universities officially recognise the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma through the UNEDasiss accreditation system, ensuring fair access to higher education. IB students are evaluated on the same terms as those completing the national Bachillerato, and the qualification is accepted by both public and private universities across Spain and abroad.
At the heart of the IB Diploma Programme are three core elements that connect academic learning with reflection, independent research and real-world experience.
Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS):
Students take part in artistic, sport and community service projects, encouraging personal growth and social responsibility.
Theory of Knowledge (TOK):
A course that challenges students to reflect on the nature of knowledge, helping them to develop strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Extended Essay:
An independent research project of up to 4,000 words, giving students first-hand experience of academic research and writing.
These elements, alongside the chosen academic subjects, help students to become well-rounded learners who are prepared to take on the challenges of university life.

Candidate School
CSM by SIS is a Candidate School* for the IB Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that CSM by SIS believes is important for our students.
*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP).
